Field Trips

At California Creative Learning Academy & California Creative Learning Academy Middle School is committed to helping all students with disabilities to access their education during distance learning.  we believe field trips enrich and expand the curriculum, strengthen observation skills by immersing children into sensory activities, increase children’s knowledge in a particular subject area and expand children’s awareness of their own community. Here are some examples of our field trips.

Transitional Kindergarten

Underwood Farms—Exploring where our food comes from and studying the parts of a plant.

Kindergarten

Visiting the local Senior Center to deliver cards and pumpkins. The seniors shared stories about their holiday traditions with our students. This was opportunity to teach our students the value of maintaining cross-generational relationships.

First Grade

Los Angeles County Museum of Art—Students made a connection between their own art and the art at the museum.

2nd grade

Kid Space—Students got to put their science learning into practice at this interactive museum.

3rd grade

Our students visited Olivera Street to connect their learning about Los Angeles History. They got to see first hand the important impact of immigrant groups on our city’s rich history.

4th grade

In this special annual field trip, our 4th graders get to present their Young Citizen’s Project to City Leaders and lawmakers at City Hall

5th grade

During this special 2 night trip to Catalina Island, our 5th graders get to explore the marine biology of the island and build strong connections with their classmates. Thanks to scholarships provided by our PTA every 5th grader gets to participate.

Middle School

During this special overnight camping trip, our middle school students are empowered to work together and build the strong social-emotional connections they will use to help navigate the everyday challenges that are part of this new phase of their lives.
